Regenerative and Injectable Therapies at HEAL
At HEAL: Center for TMJ and Sleep, we use advanced regenerative and injectable therapies as a core component of our treatment plans for jaw pain, TMJ disorders, facial pain, and headache conditions.
Platelet-Rich Fibrin (PRF) — Pure Biologic Technology
Platelet-rich fibrin is a regenerative therapy that harnesses your body’s own natural healing power. A small sample of blood is drawn in our office, spun in a centrifuge to concentrate the platelets and growth factors, and then injected precisely into the site of injury or inflammation to accelerate tissue repair and reduce pain. Because PRF is derived entirely from your own cells, it is completely biocompatible and carries virtually no risk of rejection or adverse reaction. PRF is used at HEAL to treat TMJ disc displacement, capsulitis, retrodiscitis, degenerative joint changes, and soft tissue inflammation — and has been shown to promote meaningful improvements in pain, function, and long-term joint stability.
Prolotherapy
Prolotherapy is an injection treatment that uses a sugar solution to initiate healing inside and around painful joints. The concentrated sugar solution causes a slight inflammatory response in the targeted tissue that signals healing cells to enter the area and repair the damage.
